Internet Safety

With cybercrimes, internet fraud, and scams increasing daily, Masari Capital would like to share some useful tips to keep its clients safe.

  • Purchase the latest anti-virus, anti-malware and firewall software.

Make sure you are protected against any new online threats which may harm your device and information.

  • Use current internet browsers.

Latest browser versions come with built-in protection against fake websites and viruses. You may also install ad blockers or use your browser in private mode.

  • Create strong and secure passwords.

Make sure your password has a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. Variate your passwords for different websites and never give them out!

  • Research Phishing techniques.

Phishing is a tactic criminals use to con people into giving away information and bank details. Conduct some internet research on the forms phishing may take and how to prevent it.

  • Always check email addresses.

Email phishing is the most common phishing tactic. When receiving communication from Masari Capital, always check the email address. Any communication from us will include our domain “@masaricapital.com”

  • Avoid con tricks.

Don’t click on any random web advert which arises. Scams often look too good to be true.

  • Always check the website’s security.

A website’s level of security may be identified by checking in the URL bar. If you see a lock icon that states “Connection is Secure” after clicking on it, then the website is safe. If the URL indicates “Not Secure” then we advise exiting immediately.

  • Device maintenance.

If your device is heating up, acting slow or unusual, seek assistance from a professional. Having frequent device services will also aid with keeping your device safe.
